Terms of service
The agreement between your firm and LawMOR.
Written to be read. Your firm owns its records, can leave at any time with all of them, and pays one published price. In return, we ask you to use LawMOR lawfully and to stay in charge of your own billing and trust decisions.
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between RingMOR Inc., doing business as CallMOR ("LawMOR", "we", "us"), and the law firm or legal organization that creates a LawMOR workspace ("your firm", "you"). The person who signs up confirms they are authorized to accept these terms for the firm.
The agreement includes these terms, our data processing addendum, our AI terms and the prices on our pricing page. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. If these documents conflict, the data processing addendum controls for firm records, and otherwise these terms control.
2. Who may use LawMOR
- LawMOR is for law firms, solo attorneys and legal organizations in the United States, and the people they authorize.
- Every user must be at least 18 years old.
- LawMOR is a business service, not for personal, family or household use.
- You may not use LawMOR if you are barred from receiving US services or are a competitor examining it to build a competing product.
3. Accounts and security
- Your firm decides who has access and what role each person has, and is responsible for what its users do in LawMOR.
- Each user needs their own sign-in. Do not share sign-ins. Set up a second factor; LawMOR requires it again before money and data actions.
- Tell us promptly at hello@callmor.ai if you suspect someone has accessed your account without permission.
- Keep the firm owner's contact details current: we send billing, security and legal notices there.
4. Trial, plans and billing
- Free trial. New firms get a 30-day trial. We remind you three days before it ends. Nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.
- Price per firm. Plans are priced per firm, per month, as published on the pricing page. Attorneys who bill time (fee-earners) count toward the plan; paralegal and staff seats are free.
- Usage. Phone numbers, text message segments, call minutes and AI receptionist minutes are billed monthly in arrears at the published rates.
- No setup fee and no annual contract. Subscriptions renew month to month, charged in advance through our payments provider, Stripe.
- Price changes. We give at least 30 days' written notice before a price change applies to your firm. You can cancel before it takes effect.
- Taxes. Prices exclude taxes. You pay any sales or similar taxes that apply, other than taxes on our income.
- Refunds. Fees are not refunded for partial months, except where the law requires it or these terms say otherwise. If we end the agreement without cause, we refund prepaid fees for the unused period.
- Billing disputes. Tell us within 60 days of a charge you believe is wrong, and we will work it out in good faith.
5. Late payment and read-only mode
If a payment fails, we email the firm owner and keep everything working for a 14-day grace period. If it is still unpaid after that, or a trial ends without a plan, the workspace becomes read-only: you can sign in, read and export everything, but you cannot add or change records. Paying the open invoice restores full access. Trust records and exports are never held back for non-payment.
6. Your data
- You own it. Your firm owns all records it puts into or receives through LawMOR ("firm data"). We claim no ownership of it.
- Our permission to use it is limited to providing, securing and supporting LawMOR for your firm, as set out in the data processing addendum. We do not sell firm data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
- Export anytime. A firm owner can export all firm data, documents and the audit log at any time, at no charge, including while the workspace is read-only.
- Your responsibilities. You are responsible for the accuracy of firm data, for having the right to put it in LawMOR, and for giving any notices and obtaining any consents your clients and callers are owed.
- Aggregated measurements. We may use counts and statistics about how LawMOR is used, such as error rates and match rates, that do not identify your firm, its clients or any person.
7. AI features
- LawMOR uses AI to suggest the matter for a call or text, draft time-entry narratives and read AI receptionist intake calls. What each feature does, and what it never does, is described in our AI terms.
- AI output can be wrong. It is a draft for a person to review. You are responsible for reviewing it before it is used, billed or sent.
- AI never bills a client, never sets billed time and never moves trust money.
- A firm owner can turn AI off and set spending limits. With AI off, LawMOR uses rules and templates.
8. Phone numbers, calls and texts
- Numbers. Phone numbers we provide are assigned to your firm while it subscribes. Where carriers allow, you may port a number in or out. Numbers that are not ported out within 30 days after the agreement ends may be released.
- Recording consent. Call recording is off by default. If you turn it on, you are responsible for complying with recording and consent laws, including all-party consent states. LawMOR keeps a recording only when the consent announcement played.
- Texting rules. Only text people who have given the consent the law requires, such as clients and people who contacted you. Business texting must be registered with the carriers (10DLC); we handle the registration, and texting is blocked until it is approved. Opt-outs (STOP) are honored automatically and cannot be overridden.
- AI receptionist. If you turn it on, it tells callers it is an automated assistant and not a lawyer. It does not give legal advice or form an attorney-client relationship.
- No emergency calls. LawMOR numbers and apps are not a replacement for a telephone service that can reach 911 or other emergency services. Do not rely on LawMOR to make emergency calls.
- Carriers. Calls and texts depend on carriers and providers we do not control. Carriers may filter or block messages, and we are not responsible for their delays or failures.
9. Client payments and trust
- Client card and bank payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms, which your firm accepts when it connects a Stripe account. LawMOR never receives full card or bank details.
- You choose whether each payment goes to your trust or operating account. Card fees and chargebacks are taken from operating, never from trust.
- LawMOR records trust transactions and helps you reconcile them. Your firm, and the licensee responsible for the trust account, remain responsible for the account and for complying with the trust-accounting rules of your state.
10. Your professional responsibility
LawMOR is software. It is not a law firm, does not give legal, tax or accounting advice, and does not replace your professional judgment. You are responsible for your ethical duties, including confidentiality, supervision of staff and technology, reasonable fees, billing only for time actually worked, conflicts checks and trust-account compliance. Features that help with these duties are tools for you to use, not a guarantee of compliance.
11. Acceptable use
You and your users must not use LawMOR to:
- break any law, including laws on telemarketing, robocalls, texting, call recording, privacy, consumer protection or discrimination;
- send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or messages to people who have opted out;
- harass, threaten, impersonate or deceive anyone, or misrepresent who is calling or texting;
- store or send malware, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
- access another firm's data, probe or break our security, or get around usage limits or plan limits;
- overload the service, or scrape or copy it in bulk except through the export we provide;
- resell LawMOR or provide it to people outside your firm, other than your clients through the portal;
- reverse engineer the software, except where the law allows it.
We may suspend the affected feature or account, after notice where practical, to stop a violation or to protect the service, carriers or other people. We will restore access once the issue is fixed. Suspension never blocks a firm owner from exporting firm data.
12. Connected services
If you connect another service, such as Gmail, Microsoft 365, QuickBooks or your own mail server, you authorize us to exchange data with it on your behalf. That service's own terms apply to it, and we are not responsible for it.
13. Our software and feedback
- While the agreement lasts, we give your firm a non-exclusive, non-transferable right for its users to use LawMOR for the firm's legal practice.
- We own LawMOR, its software, design and documentation. Nothing in these terms transfers them to you.
- If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely, without any duty to you. Suggestions never include your firm data.
14. Confidentiality
Each side will protect the other's non-public information with at least reasonable care and use it only for this agreement. We treat all firm data as confidential, including information protected by attorney-client privilege or work product, and our staff may access it only to provide the service, when the firm grants support access, or when the law requires it.
15. Availability and changes
- We work to keep LawMOR available and post incidents on our status page, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside US business hours where we can.
- We improve LawMOR continually. We will not make a change that materially reduces the core features of your plan, or the security of firm data, during your current subscription without notice.
- We may update these terms. We will email firm owners at least 30 days before a material change takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then; continuing to use LawMOR after that means you accept the change.
16. Warranties and disclaimers
We will provide LawMOR with reasonable skill and care, substantially as described on our website, and we will maintain the security controls described on our security page. Apart from that and to the extent the law allows, LawMOR is provided "as is". We disclaim all other warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI output, transcriptions or matter suggestions will be accurate or complete.
17. Limits of liability
- Neither side is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or goodwill, even if told they were possible.
- Each side's total liability under this agreement is limited to the fees your firm paid to us in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim.
- These limits do not apply to your payment obligations, a side's indemnity obligations, a breach of confidentiality, or liability that cannot be limited by law.
18. Indemnity
- We will defend your firm against third-party claims that LawMOR, as we provide it, infringes their intellectual property, and pay the resulting damages or settlement.
- Your firm will defend us against third-party claims arising from firm data, or from your use of LawMOR in breach of these terms or the law, such as texting without consent or recording without required consent, and pay the resulting damages or settlement.
- The side being defended must notify the other promptly, let it control the defense and cooperate reasonably.
19. Cancelling and ending the agreement
- You can cancel at any time from your billing settings. No phone call is needed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month.
- We can end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or immediately if your firm materially breaches these terms and does not fix the breach within 15 days of notice, or for unlawful use.
- After it ends, the workspace stays available read-only so a firm owner can export everything for at least 12 months. We will give 30 days' notice before deleting firm data, except data the law requires us to keep. Encrypted backups expire within 30 days after deletion.
- Sections that by their nature should continue, including data, confidentiality, liability, indemnity and payment of amounts owed, survive the end of the agreement.
20. Governing law and disputes
California law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, each side will try to resolve the dispute by contacting the other and negotiating in good faith for 30 days. After that, disputes go to the state or federal courts in Orange County, California, and both sides consent to their jurisdiction. Either side may bring a claim in small-claims court, or seek an injunction to protect its confidential information or intellectual property, in any court with jurisdiction.
21. General terms
- Neither side may assign this agreement without the other's consent, except to a successor of its business that agrees to these terms.
- Neither side is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as natural disasters, carrier outages or government action, other than payment obligations.
- If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it.
- The parties are independent contractors. This agreement creates no partnership or agency.
- This is the entire agreement about LawMOR and replaces earlier discussions. Terms on a purchase order or similar document do not apply.
