Common questions
Who can see the drafts made from my calls and texts?
Only you. A draft stays private to its timekeeper until it is approved, and nothing reaches a pre-bill until then.
Does AI decide how much time I bill?
No. Call time is the measured call length with the firm's rounding. AI writes the narrative, never the hours, and texts are marked as an estimate for you to confirm.
Why does LawMOR ask for my second factor again?
Actions that move money or data, such as trust postings, recording payments, signing a reconciliation and exports, need a second-factor check within the last 10 minutes.
Can a client ledger go negative?
No. LawMOR refuses a disbursement or transfer that would take a client ledger below zero.
Can I edit a trust transaction?
No. Trust records are never edited. You post a reversal with a reason, and both entries stay in the journal.
Who can sign the monthly reconciliation?
Only the trust account's designated licensee, after confirming their second factor. A signed month is locked; corrections go into the next month.
Can I make calls from LawMOR?
Yes, once a firm owner assigns you an extension under Settings, Phone and texting, Softphone. Use the phone button in the top bar, Call client on a matter, or Call on a contact. Calls go out on the firm's numbers and file to the matter you choose.
Are calls recorded?
Only on numbers where the firm turns recording on, and every recorded call plays a recording announcement first. If the announcement does not play, the audio is not kept.
Can LawMOR staff see our data?
Not unless a firm owner allows it under Settings, Firm profile. Access is read-only, ends on its own, and every use appears in the audit log.
Can I take my data out if we leave?
Yes. A firm owner can export everything as CSV and JSON with all documents and the audit log at any time, including after you cancel.
Which LEDES formats are supported?
LEDES 1998B, LEDES 1998BI and LEDES XML 2.2. Format errors stop the file; client guideline findings are listed but never block it.
