Approve LawMOR for your firm (for IT administrators)

If lawyers see Need admin approval when connecting Microsoft 365, an administrator approves LawMOR once for the whole firm.

  1. Why this appears

Many firms set Microsoft 365 so staff cannot approve outside apps themselves. Then a lawyer who selects Connect Microsoft 365 sees Need admin approval. One approval by an administrator lets everyone at the firm connect.

  2. Review what LawMOR asks for

LawMOR asks for these delegated permissions only, used on behalf of each signed-in person: offline_access (check mail every few minutes), User.Read (read the person's email address), Mail.Read (read their mail) and Mail.Send (send mail as them). It does not ask for access to other people's mailboxes, files or the directory.

  3. Approve from the request

If your tenant uses the admin consent workflow, the lawyer's request appears in the Microsoft Entra admin center under Enterprise applications, Admin consent requests. Open the LawMOR request, review the permissions and select Approve.

  4. Or approve directly

Sign in at entra.microsoft.com as a Global Administrator, Cloud Application Administrator or Application Administrator. Ask one lawyer to try Connect Microsoft 365 once so LawMOR appears under Enterprise applications, then open LawMOR, go to Permissions and select Grant admin consent for your organization.

  5. Tell the team to connect

Each lawyer then follows Connect your Outlook or Gmail mailbox. You can remove LawMOR at any time under Enterprise applications; already filed email stays in LawMOR with the firm's matters.
