Share a matter with co-counsel

Give a lawyer at another firm a read-only view of one matter, and see what you have been shared.

Clients and matters3 min readFor: Owners and attorneys share; anyone invited can viewOpen this in LawMOR

  1. Open the Co-counsel tab

On the matter page, open the Co-counsel tab and select Share this matter.

  2. Choose what they can see

Enter the lawyer's email address and an optional note. Tick Notes, Calendar events, Tasks and Documents as needed, and pick the documents to share one by one. Only uploads, engagement letters and other files can be shared; time, billing, trust, conflict reports, recordings and filed email never leave the firm. Select Send invitation.

  3. They accept the invitation

The lawyer gets an email with a link that is valid for 14 days. They sign in to LawMOR with the invited email address (creating a free workspace first if they are new) and the matter opens read-only. Nobody else can use the link, and the firm's own members cannot be invited this way.

  4. Change or end access

In the Co-counsel tab, untick a section to hide it, select Resend to send a fresh invitation, or Revoke to end access straight away. The lawyer is told by email when access ends.

  5. See what was shared with you

Under Practice, open Shared with me to see matters other firms have opened to you, who shared them and when you last looked. Everything you open there is written to the sharing firm's audit log, so keep it to what you need.
